![]() ![]() Some other differences between the two that I've read about but cannot find to be completely accurate since most of it is by experienced keeper observations is BCC's have a more sensitive digestion system so they should be fed smaller meals as opposed to being able to feed BCI's slightly larger meals. I don't know every locale but some of the most common are listed below in groups of BCC and BCIĬolombian (although some people believe they are a BCC and some BCC fanatics say they're BCI) Notice how the markings are smooth and curvy.įrom what I understand.and I could be completely wrong.but the morphs of RTBs are made with BCI's, not BCC's. The markings on their back are visually different. I've seen some definite BCI's being sold for the same price as a BCC, usually in pet stores that are either looking to make a fat pocket off some unsuspecting person or truly don't know what they have because they don't know the specifics. BCC's may grow slower but are generally larger as adults by 3-4'.īCC's are also more expensive than BCI's. BCI's have a much quicker growth rate than BCC's do and can easily attain lengths of 6' or more by their second birthday. BCI's may have more or less than 22 saddles, which makes this method of identification unreliable. Other visual features between them include the BCC sometimes display a brighter tail coloration, more coloration throughout their body (silvers and/or pinks and/or purples), shaplier saddles that may have more contrast, and less than 22 saddles. For beginners even this can be a bit confusing. BCC's have a true red tail, while most BCI's have an orange-red tail coloration. The main difference between the two is the tail. From what I've learned, they're all a red tail boa, but found in different locations, but there are still minor differences between them both visually and possibly the way they're kept. Most BCC owners call BCI RTB (red tail boa) common boas. ![]() I've seen some people get really fanatical over the differences. If there are any BCI or BCC owners on board who have more info, please feel free to add to this or even correct some information I may get wrong. If truth be told, I'm still learning the differences myself. Since a couple of people have asked me about the differences between the two different red tail boas, I decided to make a thread and hope I can explain it in an easy format. ![]()
