Head over to the default Steam folder location on. You can also view this as a video, which also shows how to opt into the Steam Beta Client. Make sure that the game files are available in the proper location on the PC drive wherever youve saved them. Depending on your machine, the default path could also be C:Program Files(x86)Steam. NB: If you are opted into the Steam Beta you will need to opt back into it after you reinstall Steam. The default path of Steam folder is C:Program FilesSteam. Non of your games will be deleted and all your settings will be saved. That's it! You're done with your reinstall. Wait while Steam downloads the required files and reinstalls.If you have no game save files, local screenshots or any configs like custom library categories or important Steam settings that you care about you can optionally delete the userdata folder as well.You may choose to Right-click the folder. Delete everything within the folder except for steamapps, userdata and Steam.exe. Search the Game folder you want to remove, left-click it, and press the Delete key.Head to the Steam Program Files folder, commonly located at C: > ProgramFiles(x86) > Steam.I have created a new steam library on a separate SSD drive and set it as default. The following method is recommended if you're reinstalling Steam for troubleshooting purposes. Can't delete default steam library folder I have had this issue for a while but I just got a new drive and moved my Steam library again so this has cropped up again and I'm hoping someone has an answer. This following method will NOT delete your games or any other important things like save files, local screenshots, library categories, etc.
